Attention all berry lovers and strawberry fanatics!!

Do you enjoy the taste of strawberries?

Do you tend to incorporate strawberries in your dishes?

If you'd like to satisfy your tastebuds and discover new dishes solely comprised of strawberries, I have a phenomenal event to share with you!

Located in the largest city of Kanagawa prefecture, Yokohama holds one of my personal favorites - the Strawberry Festival!

When is the festival held?

The Strawberry Festival is held annually in February.

It usually begins sometime in the first week and lasts around 3 weeks & 1/2.

Best mode of transportation

A view of Port of Yokohama

The closest station is Nihon-Odori (日本大通り) which is about an 8-9 minute walk. Although it may be a bit of a detour, I do recommend walking along Zou-no-hana Terrace (象の鼻テラス). There is a cafe nearby, a resting area on the grass, and an amazing view of the sea.

Another way that I highly recommend is coming from Sakuragicho (桜木町) station. It does take a longer time around 18 minutes but I guarantee it is worth it. There are countless stores, sights, and amusement parks to catch your eye! If not on the way to the festival, you should take it this way afterward. The night lights, mood, and ambiance will sure to enchant you.

Is it free? How much does it cost?

The Strawberry Festival does have free admission but only for elementary school kids and younger. So this could be a great chance to bring your kids, younger siblings, or nieces/nephews. It could an unforgettable experience for the whole family!

Regular admission costs 500 yen (roughly 3.44 USD). However, if you have the Red Brick Warehouse app, you could get a discount then make it 300 yen (roughly 2 USD).

How to enjoy the festival

I know you must be wondering, what exactly is the strawberry festival? Why is it such a big deal? Should I photo boothadd this to my itinerary? There cannot be much to see or do.

Well...I guess I will have to make my case.

Upon entering, the festival had a cute photobooth area where you could take a special photostrip to remember the day. I don't know about you but that seems like a great way to cherish your outing!

Before even entering the tent section, there are already food trucks lined up with various strawberry treats such as strawberry pizza, strawberry crème brûlée, etc. These trucks have a limited amount and do sell out quickly so you should try these out before they run out!

Once you eat your way through all the delicious food trucks, there are many many more to explore in the tent. You can find fresh strawberries, smoothies, parfait, and even merch!

Now...I think I have given a pretty convincing argument for why you should attend the strawberry festival. It's not only about the festival but everything surroundingopportunity it as well.

If you have the oppportunity arises, I highly recommend you grasp it and try to attend the festival!
