Who can say no to ice cream? Not me!

This year’s ice cream event was basically a dream come true — endless scoops, new flavours to try, and good vibes all around.

I’ve been to various types of festivals and events while in Japan, but this was my first. As a TOTAL dessert lover, I couldn't have been more excited!

The moment I discovered it was happening,

I called my friend, purchased the tickets, and waited for the day to arrive. Luckily, the tickets were a great deal.

All children (elementary students and lower) can enter for free, while for adults (junior high and above) it was ¥500. However, if you purchase the tickets in advance, they are lower-priced at  ¥450.

Not too much of a difference, but I recommend doing so in advance to reduce the hassle of waiting in line and the risk of tickets no longer being available.

I did purchase the tickets in advance with my friend, but we made an unfortunate critical mistake. The event was CASHLESS, and we did NOT prepare for it.

The venue was slowly getting crowded, and the lines were constantly growing. We rushed out to find the closest convenience store.

Thankfully, we found a 7-Eleven not too far away. As soon as we refilled our IC cards, we sped-walked back. It was actually quite fortunate since we were able to exercise a little prior to devouring the ice cream.

あいぱく Ice cream event

This year, あいぱくwas celebrating its 10th anniversary. It began in Harajuku, but now it even occurs in Fukushima, Nagasaki, and Osaka! The intention behind the event is to spread, showcase, and appreciate Japanese ice cream with some exceptions. Some of the best ice cream brands throughout Japan are selected to join. This year, about 25 brands joined together to introduce over 150 kinds of amazing ice creams! I highly recommend going if you have the chance.
